Treatments for Men

More men are now seeking treatment in order to look and feel better about themselves. The common complaint is that they look tired and/or angry and would like a fresher appearance without it being obvious to anyone that they have had treatment.

It is easy to help as we tailor treatment to individuals which is really important when treating men, as there are essential anatomical differences between male and female faces which must be taken into account when planning treatment.

For example, woman generally favour arched brows whilst the male brows are straighter and lower. Giving a man arched eyebrows over-feminises him, as would giving him high cheekbones or completely eliminating crows feet lines.

A common treatment area for men are the frown muscles - softening any lines between his brows will make him look less tired and angry, but his eyebrow architecture should be preserved. Another common request is to soften forehead lines which it is possible to do without treatment being obvious. Milder treatment can soften lines whilst still preserving facial movement - all of which helps to preserve a youthful, fresher, natural look.

Dr. Kelleher will take into account each patient's muscle mass, muscle fiber pattern and hair distribution. Although every face is unique, in general, men require higher doses of BtxA than women.

BtxA for Men is the fastest growing segment of the Non surgical Aesthetic market with men representing one in ten patients worldwide. According to a new study in the journal Cosmetic Dermatology, the number of American men getting Botox injections has skyrocketed 258 percent over the past decade or so.

Data from patients show treatments increase men's confidence, mood and self-esteem. As well as the obvious aesthetic feel-good factor, there are many clinical trials, completed and ongoing,  on the mood-enhancing effects of Botox. A recent study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology demonstrated the paralysis of the frown muscles leads to less negative facial feedback to the brain. Consequently, a negative mood seems to be harder to maintain.

Another key treatment area for men is their sweat glands, specifically to treat excessive underarm sweating.  If  big damp patches under your arms are a problem for you when you are under pressure or negotiating a deal, BtxA could be your solution.  This treatment works by blocking signals from nerve endings to the sweat glands.
