Elanamie Clinic is an aesthetics and wellbeing clinic. We don't offer general medicine services. If you have anything outside GLP-1 weight loss to manage — an unrelated prescription, a chronic condition, a screening, mental health support — your registered family GP is your point of care.

How does the consultation work?

Start with our 2-minute self-assessment checklist. It applies the same criteria Dr Daly will apply at consultation, so you'll know before you book whether it is worth your consultation fee.

If the checklist says you may be suitable, please feel free to contact our office to book an initial consultation. You will need recent blood tests done first (last 6 months) — see our blood test information sheet for what is needed and where to get it.

At the consultation, Dr Daly will take a full history, review your medications and bloods, discuss your goals and previous attempts, explain the medication options, take you through consent, and — if suitable — issue your first prescription.

You leave with a treatment plan, injection guidance, and a four-week follow-up appointment.

Four-weekly reviews then continue for as long as you're on treatment. Dr Daly adjusts your dose, monitors your response, and manages side effects.

Am I a good candidate?

Yes, generally, if all of these apply:

  • You are over 18

  • Your BMI is 30 or higher, or 27–29.9 with a diagnosed weight-related condition (type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, fatty liver, or PCOS etc.)

  • You have a registered family GP

  • You have tried lifestyle changes and understand this medication works alongside them, not instead of them

No, if any of these apply:

  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or actively trying to conceive

  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2

  • Type 1 diabetes, or a history of diabetic ketoacidosis

  • A previous allergic reaction to tirzepatide or semaglutide

  • Currently on another GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Saxenda, Rybelsus)

  • A personal history of an eating disorder

Discuss with Dr Daly if you have: a history of pancreatitis or gallbladder problems, kidney or liver disease, diabetic retinopathy, current insulin or oral contraceptive pill use, or significant mental health conditions under active treatment. These are not automatic blocks, but they need a proper conversation.

See our pre consultation checklist here.

What medications do we prescribe?

Two options: Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide).

Both are licensed weight-loss medications given as once-weekly self-injections.

Both reduce appetite and slow gastric emptying. Trial data shows sustained weight loss of 12–22% over twelve months when combined with lifestyle change.

Dr Daly picks between them based on your medical history, your cardiovascular risk profile, and — sometimes — supply and cost.

What blood tests do I need?

Recent bloods are required before prescription. We accept the following:

  • Your family GP. We can provide a list of what is needed or if you have blood results with no problems highlighted in the previous 6 months.

  • doctor365.ie. Has walk in appointments available 24/7 for those who have no GP or can’t access an appointment with their GP. Consultation and bloods.

Full details in our blood test information sheet.

Is this treatment safe?

Mounjaro and Wegovy are HPRA-regulated prescription medications. Both currently carry black triangle status, which means enhanced safety monitoring for newer medications. That is a standard system, not a warning about the drug itself.

Dr Daly will discuss side effects with you, tell you what is normal and what warrants a phone call, and report anything concerning through the Yellow Card scheme. Every effective medication carries risk. Used in the right patient, with proper assessment and monitoring, these are safe and well-established weight-loss tools.

How much does it cost?

  • Initial consultation with Dr Daly — €150

  • Four-weekly follow-up review — €100

  • Medication — €200–€450 per month, depending on dose

  • Blood tests — arranged separately, approximately €80 via your GP

We will actively monitor pharmacies and update you on the most competitive prices.

What Elanamie treatments can I combine with GLP-1 treatment?

Substantial weight loss brings visible changes to your face, skin, and body. Volume loss around the cheeks and temples (sometimes called "GLP-1 face"), skin laxity, and body composition shifts are common — and expected.

We can support this alongside your treatment- here are a few examples of treatments that work in conjunction with or after a weightloss programme:

Ready to begin? Start with the self-assessment checklist. If it says you are suitable feel free to contact the clinic for a consultation. If not it is advisable not to pay for a consultation as you won’t qualify for a prescription. (021) 241-9113 or office@elanamie.ie.
